Decal Applications
The use of decals offers a full spectrum of colors while providing both a pricing and design alternative to either etching or direct screen-printing. This process is typically used for large runs of 1.5 to 6 liter bottles. Water- slide decals are hand applied to empty bottles, cured for 24 hrs, and fired at upwards of 1,200° F to permanently fuse them onto the glass. The practical aspect of decals is similar to direct screen-printing in that they cannot be torn, scuffed, wrinkled or soaked off the bottle surface. The cost is competitive to both paper and pressure sensitive labels.
